Your senior year is one of the most eventful years of your life! There are so many experiences: senior trips, prom, senior day, graduation, and of course senior pictures! We want you to have an amazing senior year, and an even more amazing senior photo experience with Kari Douma Photography. This is a once in a lifetime event, and we would be super excited to be part of it! We can’t wait to capture the memories that show the essence of who you are.

Are you ready for your senior experience?

Before the session:

In order to have a successful senior photo shoot, a little pre-planning goes a long way. We love to have a consultation with each of our seniors and their parents/guardians. We want to meet you and get to know you. We want to hear your ideas and learn about your likes and dislikes. We want to get to know your personality and style, and what is your vision for your session. We want you to express who you are, and what is important to you.

We will discuss:

Ideas for clothing, makeup, and hair.
Great locations that would showcase you the best. (Check out our article on "Choosing a Location for Senior Pictures"
Props or memorabilia, that you would like to include in your photos. This might be a sport outfit, a musical instrument, or anything that reflects who you are at this stage in your life.
We will also sent a date and time for your session if we have not done so already.

During the session:

On the day of your senior photo experience, get ready to have some fun! We will take a variety of shots at the location(s) we picked.

At your session we will:

Guide you on posing - We know you might not feel comfortable or know exactly how to pose to look your best, so we will help with that!
Use professional lighting techniques - This will give you the best quality photos. Whether your session is inside our studio, or outside on location, we make sure the lighting is going to rock!
Utilize the backgrounds at your location - We have an eye for backgrounds. It might even be an old dumpster that is rusty and has GREAT texture. We use our professional eye and experience to find things that will make for fantastic backgrounds to your images.
Make you feel relaxed and comfortable - We get it. Not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera. We will make you feel at ease and take the stress away from having your picture taken.
Help you pick your clothing - Are you still not sure what to wear after our consultation? Bring along a few different choices, and we will tell you what will look best!

After the session:

After the session you can sit back and relax while we prepare your images for your viewing and ordering appointment. Once we have everything ready, you will come into the studio and view them on our large screen.

At your ordering appointment and after the session here are some things that will happen:

View a custom slideshow of your images - Your images will look great with a custom created slideshow and music! (Moms, make sure you bring some Kleenex, this might make you tear up!)
Compare your images - We will help you compare your images side by side to narrow down your favorites for ordering.
Select your products - We have samples of everything you need and more. We will look at your favorite images that we narrowed down, and select which images you would like for the products you are interested in. Easy!
Select your yearbook image - You can also choose to have us send in your yearbook image to your high school. Just let us know the School name, and any special instructions. We make it easy for you!
Amazing products - Whether you purchase your digital files, an wall portrait, or a senior album, you will be amazed at the quality of your images from Kari Douma Photography.
Graduation cards - When you are ready to order graduation cards in the spring, we will custom design a card for you with your graduation and/or open house information to send out to your family and friends.
Complimentary family session - In the spring of your senior year we offer a complimentary family session to all our senior families. As your family grows and changes, and the kids move away, this is a great way to keep the memory of your intact family alive!
