This week I am up in Traverse City taking a week long photography class.  My instructors are James Churchill and David Deutsch.  We are learning lighting techniques, composition, posing, Photoshop,  and how to make composites.  Here are some of the images I captured and created so far this week!

Wow…this is the first time I (Jayne) get to post on the blog! YEAH…
Mini-Sessions were a huge success! Thanks to the weather holding out (a little cloud cover, but no rain!) although you wouldn’t have known it was June by the temperature! Thanks to all the little ones who were smiling even though their teeth were chattering after awhile! Here’s a few of my favorite images! Matthew could not resist the water! We thought he might like to tip toe in at the edge of the stream, but he jumped right in! (Luckily mom brought extra clothes so he could change afterward!)

Taylor’s little brother came along, and I couldn’t resist getting a shot of the two of them together…what cuties!

What fun I had with the triplets! Griffin, Sophia and Caden had a great time looking for frogs as they hopped across the rocks in the streams!

Matthew was such a joy to photograph! Kari photographed Matthew's family in the fall, and he's grown so much since then! He has the sweetest smile that makes you want to smile too!

Taylor came to Spring Grove Park for her 5 year old portraits…she was a natural (all smiles)!

I love newborn sessions…and this one was special because I love to see past clients too.  This family had a newborn session done 2 years ago with Preston’s big brother, now it was the new baby’s turn!  So, they came to the Studio in Grandville for a newborn session.  Preston was a very special gift to his family.  His mother was on bed rest the entire pregnancy, and he blessed their lives a few weeks early!  

Collin turned one… and boy is he on the MOVE!  I couldn’t keep him on one spot for more than a second or two… he really gave me a work out!  I love how one year olds are so inquisitive… Collin didn’t want to look at the same thing for too long.  After chasing him around The Studio for an hour, we captured some great expressions!

Evan and Lauren have come to see me several times before… I am always amazed at how much children change in 6 months!  Evan has turned into a polite young man, and Lauren is a silly little girl who is finally getting hair!  When Lauren’s mom came back for her viewing, she told me that Lauren “wanted to come and get her picture taken again!”  I LOVE to hear that!

I photographed my great-niece’s 4 month old portraits at The Studio a few weeks ago.   (Ok… that makes me sound old!)  4 month old sessions usually go pretty quick, because the babies get tired out not too long into the session… and that is exactly what happened with Lila.  Here are two from her session!

The first thing I noticed about Kayden when he got out of the car was his BIG blue eyes!  I knew that I had to capture those eyes…. to really show them off!  Well, it worked!  I was able to capture an image of Kayden that showed off those baby blue eyes!

I met Matt and Karyll at Spring Grove Park in Jamestown for a family portrait session.  Their girls were excited!  Jocelyn was so busy, she barely had time to stop for a minute to have me capture her playing in the park! After working with her for an hour, we FINALLY got that great image!  Whew!   I promised Karis that she could step in the stream when we were all done… and she kept asking me if it was time to step in the stream yet!  In the end I was able to capture each girl’s personality!  Thanks Matt and Karyll for bringing the girls to see me agian!
