Something is Brewing!

October 29, 2008

Yes, I am working on something big! Some of you know what it is already, and some of you can guess! Someone guessed if I was having a baby, and that is a big fat “NO!” (I love my kids but four is enough!) So, I was trying to think of a little hint I could give you all. But, I can’t think of anything without giving it away! I guess my hint would be – Grandville is a nice place. Hmmmm…… More info coming soon!

Wow, Time flies!

I can’t believe I have neglected my blog this last week! I have had a busy week with editing and orders. But, it has been crazy with the weather! I have had to reschedule a lot of sessions. But, we got Lance’s senior session in before the weather turned bad. We had a beautiful afternoon for his session at Spring Grove Park!

When Lance was young, he loved to play in the creek. So, his mom wanted a picture that showed a creek!

Thanks Lance!

Ryan and Jan!

October 22, 2008
Ryan and Jan were married last weekend! This one was a special one for me since Ryan is my nephew. There are a lot of photographers who don’t photograph relatives weddings, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love to photograph my relatives! Their reasoning is because they want to enjoy the wedding, and not work. Well, I enjoy the wedding by working, doing something I love. It would be hard to sit back and let someone else do it!

My second shooter, Matt, found this perfect spot in the back of the church. The color was perfect! Ryan and Jan love the fall, that is why they picked a fall wedding. So, this was perfect for them!

And of course I did one of my favorites…..

Matt took this picture of me photographing the girls. Usually I wouldn’t add something like this in their proofs, but since I am family I thought I would! Then, today I was on facebook, and I found this picture of me! Someone took it with my niece’s camera, and she put it on facebook. So, I asked her if I could put it on my blog. She said sure! It is fun to see pictures of myself in action. Matt is holding the chair with his foot so I don’t tip. (Sorry Matt, but I think I would still tip if I lost my balance! Plus, your hands are in your pockets! I don’t think you could catch me if I fell!)
Here is Andy Clowing around…. I didn’t even notice at first that he put these in! Everyone was laughing and I was like…. “What is going on?”

The ceremony…

The Cake Smash!!!
A romantic first dance!
And here is one for Brianna, my niece! This is so she can show her college friends a picture of her on the blog! Here you go Brianna, love the dance!
Congratulations Ryan and Jan. If you want to see more, check out the slide show here!

My friend and her family…

October 22, 2008

This is my friend and her family. I went to cosmetology school with Nannette a long time ago. (I am really getting old, because it WAS a long time ago!) She now has two beautiful daughters, and wanted some family portraits taken.

She was definitely a daddy’s girl!
The two girls!

Isabella won some photogenic competitions at the dance competitions with a portrait I did of her a couple years ago. She wanted one just like it, so she could win again! I hope this one is a winner for you Isabella!
What a cute hat!

I love this laugh!
Thanks Nan!

Jessica!

October 21, 2008

We did Jessica’s senior session downtown last week. It was perfect! It was overcast, which is actually nice for portraits.

I just loved this black dress in the alley!

And just as we finished the session it started to sprinkle. I’m glad it didn’t rain on us! Thanks Jessica!

Print Comptition winner!

October 20, 2008

We had our monthly Professional Photographers of West Michigan meeting tonight. Each month, we have a print competition. This month the subject for our competition was Seniors. I was the winner with this image….
Thanks Brandon for a fun session, and for a winning print!

Dee Ann!

October 20, 2008

We did DeeAnn’s senior portraits last week, on a BEAUTIFUL morning! DeeAnn likes things simple, and she wanted something different. So, we did a session at her house! It was a lot of fun for me to look around and find areas that were the best. I LOVED this red barn across the street.

We also went 4 wheeling in the back property and found some great spots! (I hope you got the truck washed Mary!)

This weeping willow in the side yard was the perfect backdrop.
Thanks DeeAnn!

Nathan and Rachel

October 16, 2008

Last week we had a perfect evening for Rachel and Nathan’s engagement session at Kirk Park. I don’t think we could have asked for a more beautiful October evening. It was actually even WARM!

I am such a sucker for silhouette images. I love them! When Rachel and Nathan wanted a picture on the overlook, I knew a silhouette would be perfect!

Nathan was full of fun ideas! This one was his and I loved it!Another silhouette!

And finally a beautiful sunset portrait!
Thanks Rachel and Nathan! I am looking forward to your Chirstmas time wedding!

Jeff and Anita!

October 13, 2008

Jeff and Anita will be welcoming their third child into this world in November. So, they decided to celebrate this time of new life by having some maternity portraits done! I love to show the relationship of this happy time with the family. Everyone is eagerly anticipating this time…. I asked Anneke and Adam if they wanted a brother or a sister…. Anneke wanted a sister, and Adam wanted a brother. (Although Anita said that he wanted a sister a couple hours earlier!)

Thank you Jeff and Anita!

Really…. something exciting is going to happen in the new year…. I can’t really say a lot yet, but I am so excited! Make sure you keep checking back to see what is coming!
