Baby Lauren!

March 31, 2008

Lauren is a very special little girl! She is one month old, but she only weighs a little over three and a half pounds. You see, Lauren was born at 29 weeks. So, Her mom and Dad asked if I could come to the hospital to do newborn pictures of her. She is such a beautiful little baby! We were a little crowded in the corner of the neonatal room, with one chair and a black backdrop. We couldn’t take her blanket off too long, because her body temperature would drop. So, we kept her bundled most of the time, and got some beautiful images of this little bundle of joy. I think good things come in small packages! She didn’t fuss at all!

Lauren!

March 31, 2008

Lauren and her parents came in for a children’s and family session. Lauren doesn’t really like to get her picture taken… she didn’t like it with Santa or the Easter Bunny. So, it was my mission to see if she would like me enough to get her picture take with me! We started out with some family pictures, and that seemed to go well. She even gave me a high five! (After a lot of coaxing, and quite a few tries!) Then we did her individual portraits… well after a short time Lauren decided that she really didn’t want to do this any more… and who can argue with a one and a half year old? Luckily, we did get a few before she decided to quit!

Here is one of my favorite of her looking up at her mom!

New Logo!

March 29, 2008

OK, here they are! I finally am finished having my logo designed. I went back and forth with the designer a little bit on the colors, so here is my logo in a couple different colors. One is for my website, one is for print with my current website colors, and one is just some colors that my logo designer chose, and I liked them! (Maybe Monday I’ll have time to make a new blog header with my new logo!)

New Album!

March 29, 2008

I am so excited about the new albums I am offering! They are from Albums Unlimited. They are flush mount albums. I ordered a sample a few weeks ago, and I just got it this week! It is absolutely beautiful. I am very happy with the quality of the album. I took a few snapshots of the album so you could see it, but even the images don’t show how beautiful this album is. (By the way, you are getting a sneak peek at my new logo!)

We had a great day yesterday at our PPWM seminar. We had Dave Humphrey come in and do a seminar on Senior photography. He showed us some cool posing and lighting techniques! We also learned some photoshop tips, and some marketing! Here are some fun pictures from the day, taken by Thom from Thompson Studios (since I forgot my camera!) Thanks Tom!

Guest signing book!

March 24, 2008
Well, this time of year is not as busy as the summer through Christmas, so I get time work on some projects. I just created a guest signing book. This is one of the new trends for weddings! there is a book, made from the engagement session, that is on the table or podium for the guests to leave a little message in. Here is the sample book I made. The faded areas are where the guests sign….

New Website!

March 19, 2008

OK, my new website is finally done! I have been working on it for a little over a month. I am very excited how it turned out! Check it out here!

Blog is almost done…

March 18, 2008

Well, my awesome blog designer is done with his end of my blog. (By the way, my awesome blog designer is Phil, whose engagement and wedding pictures I did! If you need some work done, let me know and I’ll send you his contact info!)

So, now it is up to me. The only thing I have left to do is add a new header that is wider, and start posting! The reason I haven’t added a new header yet, is because I am having a new logo made. So, I am waiting for my new logo, then I will make a new header. The cool thing is that I can make as many new headers as I want, and then I can have them rotate every time you click on my blog.

Another fun thing is that the images on my blog are going to be bigger too… once I post some. So, I am still working away at it! Check back again!

"Pardon the dust"

March 14, 2008

“Pardon the dust”… Isn’t that always what you see when there is construction in a store? Well, I am going to say “pardon the dust” while I am having some construction work done on my blog. A few things look “funny” for now, but it will be fixed soon! And don’t forget to check back and see the progress!

Jerry Ghionis!

March 12, 2008

I had an amazing day yesterday in Detroit. I went to a seminar by Jerry Ghionis. Who is Jerry Ghionis you ask? He is a well known photographer from Australia. He travels the world to speak at national events. He was on his way to the national WPPI convention in Las Vegas, and he made a stop in Detroit for a seminar for us. It was a very long day. We left at 6:00 am, and got back last night at 12:30 am. Here are a few images I took with my Point and shoot camera for the day so you can see what we did!

Here is Jerry speaking to us. He was an excellent and funny speaker! He kept our attention for 13 hours!

He showed us slide shows of his work that inspired us, and told us the secret on how he captured such great images! He talked about make the extraordinary out of the ordinary as far as location and lighting was concerned. He taught us some dramatic lighting tricks. He also showed us some posing tips. These men acted as the groom and grooms men! My next wedding isn’t for a little while, but I am so excited for it after such an inspirational seminar!
