Leah and Dan

November 29, 2007

Another Maternity session…. Leah and Dan cam over last week to document their pregnancy. I love maternity sessions, I know I have said that before. But, I loved being pregnant, and I think it is beautiful! Here are some of my favorites from Leah and Dan’s session….

Leah used to be an dancer, so she liked the idea of this one! Thanks Leah and Dan, I hope all goes well when you welcome that new little one into the world! I can’t wait to see that baby!

Phil + Tammi

November 28, 2007

I had such a fun time with Tammi and Phil for their engagement session! We did the session about a week ago. I think this is my last outdoor session of the season… until someone books some snow portraits!

Tammi and Phil got engaged downtown, so when I suggested a downtown engagement session, they jumped right on that idea! It was actually kind of funny, one of the places that I usually go, was where they got engaged! So, we even did a little reenactment of the proposal! Here are a few of my favorites! This was the reenactment!

Cara and Steve!

November 24, 2007
Cara and Steve are getting married next summer, so we did their engagement pictures last weekend. Cara has a gorgeous smile! Her whole face just beams when she smiles! We did an indoor session, but wanted to grab a few outdoors. We went outdoors and took a few, but it started to rain! We got a couple in, but then called it quits. Thanks for a great time Cara and Steve!

The Rexines!

November 23, 2007

The Rexine children came for their annual Christmas portraits! They are getting bigger and bigger every time I see them, especially the baby! (Babies always grow fast, don’t they?) I love seeing my customers over and over, to help record the history of the kids lives as they grow! Thank you Joey and Christina for sharing your children with me once again! They are beautiful!

OH BABY!

November 20, 2007

Last weekend Carrie and Scott came over for some maternity portraits. I absolutely love maternity portraits… They show the beauty and anticipation of waiting for that special baby to arrive, along with the love of the dad. Here are a few of my favorites!

The Steenstras!

November 17, 2007

Last week the Steenstra family came for some family portraits. We were supposed to do an outdoor session, but it started sleet when they were on the way to the park. So, we decided to change the session to an indoor session. I have to say, the kids were very well behaved! They were a joy to photograph! Thanks Steenstra’s for a great session!

Anna and Emma!

November 15, 2007

Wow, it has been a week since I posted last! Time flies when you are busy! Last week I did the Buckler family’s Christmas pictures, along with Anna’s 6 month old pictures. I love it when I get to see my customers on a regular basis… I did Anna’s newborn session, and I have photographed her big sister Emma twice before also. Anna was full of smiles, and LOVED being on her belly! That surprised me, because most babies start to get fussy if they are on their bellies too long. When I put Anna on her back for a few images, I couldn’t keep her there, because she would roll to her belly right away! OK Anna, your the boss! You can have your portrait done on your belly! Emma and I had a dance session. She brought along her favorite CD (I almost said tape, you can tell how old I am! At least I didn’t almost say record!) She also loved playing with my oldest daughter Alex. Alex likes to help me with the kids to get them to smile. Thanks for playing and dancing with us Emma!

And here is the family. Thank you Rachel and Brian for coming to see me!

Crystal and Justin!

November 8, 2007

Crystal and Justin are getting married in June next year at Post Family Farms. They wanted something a little non traditional! So, we did their engagement session Downtown last weekend. I have known Crystal since she was a baby… because she is my cousin. (Well sort of… actually her mom and my mom are cousins.) So, I was very excited when she booked me for her wedding! (Don’t I aways say that? Well, it is true!) Thanks Crystal and Justin for a fun engagement session!

I am talking about searching for yourself on Google… do you ever do it? Every once in a while I will search my name in Google to find out what is about me on the web. My website usually comes up high on the list, and my blog too. Then I see some posts on photography forums that I posted. There is also another Kari Douma, who is a choir director in MN, and she stars in a lot of musicals and productions. Well, today I decided to Google my name again. I found something kind of fun! A while ago I submitted a wedding image to a website called “Awesome Images”. Anyway, when I googled my name today, I found that I was featured there… and I didn’t even know it! So, Click here to see it!

Mitchell!

November 5, 2007

Last week Mitchell came over for his newborn portraits. He was two weeks old. He is such a cutie, and a GOOD baby! The fun thing was I did Mitchel’s older sister’s nweborn protraits two years ago. So, I got to see her again, and get a few of her too! She was a little shy though… but she did crack a tiny smile for me a couple times! Here are some of my favorites!
