Some of you know that I volunteer for an organization called Heartworks. Heartworks Photography, Inc. is a private, non-profit, professional portrait studio that works exclusively with special needs children and children who have been stricken with life-threatening illnesses or injuries. They provide these portraits at no cost to the families. This week heartworks is in Phoenix, AZ at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. They were featured on a local news station. If you are interested in seeing what heartworks is all about, watch the news segment by clicking HERE. Then click on the story “Special Photo session for Children at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.” They are always in need of donations to be able to offer these portraits at no cost. If you are willing to help this wonderful cause, click HERE. Thanks for checking this out!

I spent this week Monday and Tuesday at a Seminar put on by my local lab. They flew in Mike and Jessica Ridinger From Idaho to demonstrate on Monday. It was a fantastic seminar. They had a beautiful approach to photographing children. I am excited to try some of the techniques that I learned! Hopefully this weekend I’ll be able to practice some of the new techniques. On tuesday we had a photoshop class. I always walk away with some new and improved ways to edit my images after a class like this. So, hopefully this will help me cut down some of my editing time.

Today I started the Million Step challenge. This is a program designed by The Escape Fitness Center. I was proud to be one of the sponsors and the event photographer! We had a beautiful day for a walk! The program runs all summer, and the goal is to get 1 million steps taken by the end of August. I know already that this will be a challenge for me! Maternity Pictures

May 1, 2006

I did some maternity pictures for a friend over the weekend. I love pregnancy. I think it is such a wonderful time having that tiny baby growing inside you! I had a lot of fun with Tina and Jon, capturing that big baby belly!
