The Bosma family spends a lot of time in Holland and on Lake Michigan. So, when their children and grand children came to visit Michigan, they wanted a family portrait done at Holland State Park!

We met the Steensma’s out at Holland State Park for their extended family session. They planned their session when all the family members were in town for vacation!

We had a BEAUTIFUL evening at Holland State Park for this family Beach session! The evening was perfect, and ended with a perfect sunset!

I was so excited when Rachel called me the day after Abby was born to schedule her newborn portraits! I have been photographing her family for almost 3 years now. So, it was an honor to do Abby’s newborn portraits at the Studio in Grandville!

This poor Dog Casey was diagnosed with cancer. He is in remission now. So, his family decided it was time for a family session at the house before Casey was too sick to look good in his portraits. We had a great time playing with the dogs!

I volunteer for an organization called the Heart Gallery. The Heart Gallery is an organization that takes portraits of older children who are in need of adoption. Studies have found that the adoption rates are higher for children who have a professional portrait displayed. The Michigan Heart Gallery is a traveling display, that travels around the state of Michigan, promoting awareness for adoption and for the children who are featured in the display. This year I was blessed to be able to photograph one child, and one family. The child will actually not be included in the Gallery this year, because he was adopted in-between the time of my taking his portrait, and the unveiling of the display! Congratulations to Nathan! The family I photographed was a success story for the Heart Gallery. This family adopted their son two years ago!

We had a rainy fall in Grand Rapids this year, but we were still able to do some fall family portraits in-between the rain! The Werkema family squeezed in on a beautiful fall day! The kids were so good, and they loved playing in the leaves!

The Waalkes family wanted their family portraits done at Wedgewood Park in Grandville. It was a perfect fall afternoon for their session! This session was early in the fall, so the colors were just starting to change!
Jayne had a fun downtown session with this urban family! I love this image, but I can’t decide if I like it better in color or black and white! What do you think?

Colin and Liam were full of life at Spring Grove Park near Grand Rapids for their fall session! It was a little chilly out, but what a gorgeous day we had!
